Carl Borg has been an avid athlete for over 25 years. His passion for endurance based sports has led him to compete in many different areas of sport including road racing, cross country mountain bike racing as a Cat 1, short course triathlons, Xttera, ultra-running and rock climbing. In 2008 he completed the Angeles Crest 100-mile endurance run, which was a life changing experience! After a two-year break from cycling to run in the ultra world, the desire to get back on the bike and race returned, which lead him to complete the Leadville “Race Across the Sky” 100-mile mountain bike race in 2012. He has since been racing criteriums and cyclocross as a Cat 3 in the Masters 35+ category.

 Carl Borg has studied and worked in multiple styles of strength and conditioning programs and using this knowledge combined with his experience as an endurance athlete, he has been able to develop successful training methods that focus on linking sport specific programming with strength and conditioning training.  Carl Borg has been successful in coaching and training athletes of various sports and backgrounds including:  Military personnel, amateur level to Pro Cyclists, IronMan competitors, Pro Beach volleyball players, avid golfers, and GP Superbike racers.  His programming and training has been shown to increase athletes’ speed, agility, power, and most importantly, decrease risk for injury by increasing strength and body awareness.

 Utilizing his deep knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and training theory, Carl Borg creates programs that are goal oriented and unique to each athlete he works with.  He prides himself on being able to quickly recognize the strengths and needs of athletes and commits to seeing each athlete through to their end goal.

 For the past nine years Carl Borg has been training and coaching at CrossFit Newport Beach — one of the original CrossFit gyms in Orange County — where he is also responsible for all the endurance programming.  Previously, Carl spent three years with CrossFit Endurance, creating all programming and teaching certification courses internationally.
